God’s mission has remained unchanged from the beginning of time. In the Abrahamic Covenant in Genesis 12:2-3, it says – “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you... and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you”. And then in Isaiah 49:6, He further says: “... I will also make you a light for the Gentiles, that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.” Our deep desire is, by the power of the Holy Spirit, that we will be His “...witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” until all peoples have heard... and then He will return.
Today, of the 7+ billion people worldwide, 3 billion have still not heard the Good News. In the “race to zero” unreached people groups, there are amazing stories of God’s movement worldwide. Where in the first 1,900 years since Christ, 90% of the people groups were still unreached. By 1975 that had dropped to 60% of unreached people groups, and by 2010, it was 42%. God is moving and drawing people to himself like no other time in history.
RockPointe Church has spent time in prayer and listening to what God is saying to us about what we need to be about. Our desire is to focus principally on three plan from Genesis to the end of the age, which helps us, namely:
to share, with currency, the story of what God is doing all around the world;
to effectively focus on a few global partners that are engaged in God’s mission to heal the broken, suffering & lost, and also;
to send teams of people regularly to these partners to enhance their impact for the kingdom.
RockPointe Church is part of Alliance Canada, which sends and supports missionaries to go out into the world through Global Missions. The Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada is committed to bringing awareness and raising funds to send and support workers ministering to least-reached people groups. We want to bring access to Jesus.
The Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA) was built on the foundational command to “go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19) and has lived it out since the 1800s. Our founder, A.B. Simpson, said that The C&MA "aims to reach the most neglected fields, to avoid the beaten tracks of other laborers, to press on to the regions beyond and instead of building upon another man’s foundation to preach the Gospel where Christ has not been named."
Jesus motivates us to go, to live on mission, aiming to be a Christ-centred, Spirit-empowered, Mission-focused movement. Our churches send people to live on mission as International Workers (IWs) among the least-reached people groups worldwide. With approximately 250 IWs, more than 40% are in countries that closed their doors to traditional missionaries long ago. These countries are now referred to as Creative Access Countries (CAC).
Our churches in Canada are committed to sending people to all regions of the world to serve in one of our four ministry tracks. IWs live in almost every setting imaginable, from rural sustenance communities to high-energy urban streets, in countries that protect freedom of expression and those that suppress it.
Our workers are respectfully immersed in other cultures living, loving, and doing life with them. When local people become leaders who will disciple more people to follow Jesus, our workers step aside and look for other corners of the world where God will use them again.
Each worker’s cost of living in the country where he or she serves comes from the Global Advance Fund (GAF). Through the GAF, IWs can bring access to Jesus.
