I want to invite you to celebrate with me.
You may have already heard some of these stories on Sunday, but they're too important to celebrate just once. When God is at work, it's worth rejoicing again and again!
July is a special month for our Youth and Children's Ministries at RockPointe. For many of our kids, students, and leaders, it's the month they've been counting down to all year—the week of camp!
Over the past two weeks we've had the incredible privilege of watching God transform lives. Our junior high students spent a life-changing week at Camp Chamisall, followed by an amazing week of VBS for our elementary kids. And that's not to mention the many other weeks throughout the summer when Camp Chamisall continues to welcome children from across our community.
Camp is so much more than outdoor adventures, games, and campfires. As I watched these weeks unfold, I couldn't help but think about the picture of the early church in Acts.
"All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer." Acts 2:42
Teaching. Our kids and students came with eager hearts, ready to learn about Jesus and discover more of who He is. They listened, asked thoughtful questions, worshipped together, and encountered God's truth in meaningful ways. Many are heading home with hearts that have been forever changed.
Fellowship. They also experienced something beautiful that can only happen in Christian community. If you ask any child or student who attended camp this month, they'll likely tell you about the friends they made, the relationships that grew deeper, and the incredible leaders who invested in them. God does amazing things when His people gather together.
Prayer. One of the most encouraging things to witness was the way our kids and students leaned into prayer. They are discovering that they can have a real, personal relationship with their Creator and that He hears them. They are learning that they have a meaningful place in God's Kingdom right now—not just someday in the future.
Acts 2 ends with these words:
"All the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved." Acts 2:47
We saw that same story unfolding this month.
At Camp Chamisall, 41 students made decisions about their walk with God. As we wrap up our week at VBS this morning we will see more children make decisions to follow Jesus or take the next step in their faith. That's a lot of lives impacted for eternity.
Praise God!
God is moving in our church and in our community, and we want everyone to know about it. Thank you for praying, serving, giving, and investing in the next generation. Because of your faithfulness, children and students are encountering Jesus, leaders are being raised up, and lives are being transformed.
Let's continue to celebrate all that God has done—and let's keep praying for all that He will do in the months and years ahead.
