Dear RockPointe Family,
I’m excited to share some significant news with you today.
After a lengthy and prayerful search process, involving input from our elders and staff, we are thrilled to announce that we have hired Rev. Nathan Kliewer for the Executive Pastor of Ministry position.
This is a unique role that we believe will help equip our church to move forward and live out our vision to double our reach by 2030. The Executive Pastor of Ministry helps lead and support our pastors, develop volunteer teams, guide ministry strategy, and ensure that what we’re doing as a church stays aligned with where God is leading us. It’s a role that requires wisdom, humility, spiritual maturity, leadership experience, and a deep love for the local church.
Throughout the search process, we were not just looking for someone who was qualified, we were praying for someone who was called. Someone who would love RockPointe, partner with our team, and help us continue to be a Christ-centred, Spirit-empowered, mission-focused church.
We believe God has answered that prayer in Nathan.
Meet Nathan and Sandra
Nathan and his wife Sandra bring with them over 20 years of ministry experience in Canada and around the world. Nathan is an ordained minister with the Christian & Missionary Alliance and has served as a pastor, church planter, and ministry team leader in a wide variety of settings—from urban outreach in Mexico City, to rural Alberta, and even ministry among the persecuted church in South Asia and the Middle East.
Nathan also founded Life Set Free Ministries, a global outreach that partners with local leaders to rescue families from bonded slavery in Pakistan. Through this ministry, he’s helped lead evangelistic healing crusades, plant churches, and support indigenous Christian leaders in some of the most challenging environments in the world.
Sandra is an accredited Alliance worker and a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor with years of experience walking with individuals and families through trauma, anxiety, addiction, and emotional healing. Her heart for people is matched by her gifting. She has served in various church leadership roles including women’s ministry, pastoral care, and inner healing and deliverance prayer. Her compassionate and discerning presence has brought healing and hope to many.
Together, Nathan and Sandra carry a deep passion for the transforming power of Jesus and a strong commitment to building healthy churches, equipping leaders, and caring well for people.
Why We’re So Excited
From the first conversations with Nathan, we were struck by his humility, wisdom, and clarity of calling. He has the rare ability to lead with both strength and gentleness; he has a pastor’s heart and a leader’s vision. He listens well, asks good questions, and brings a deep dependence on the Holy Spirit into every interaction.
Nathan’s global ministry experience has given him a wide-angle view of what God is doing in the world, but it’s clear that his heart beats for the local church. He believes in what God is doing here at RockPointe and feels called to invest deeply into this next chapter with us.
Sandra, too, is a gift. While she is not joining our staff, she brings incredible experience and a heart for people that will no doubt bless our community. Her ministry in emotional and spiritual healing aligns with some of the key needs and opportunities we’re seeing in our culture and church today.
What’s Next?
Nathan will be officially joining the RockPointe team in early August and we’ll introduce both him and Sandra on stage during our weekend services on Sunday, August 17. You’ll also get a chance to hear a bit more of their story, their heart for ministry, and how they sense God leading in this season.
I want to thank our elders and hiring team who walked closely with me through this search process. I’m grateful for the unity we experienced, the wisdom offered, and the prayer that surrounded every step. We approached this hire with great care and discernment because we know how vital this role is for the health and future of our church. And now, on the other side of that process, we can say with confidence: God has been faithful.
How You Can Help
As we prepare to welcome Nathan and Sandra, I want to invite you to do a few things:
Pray for their transition – The Kliewers presently live in Airdrie, and while they don’t have to move houses for this role, uprooting from a community you’ve loved and served is never easy. Pray for grace in the transition, peace for their family, and a deep sense of welcome as they settle into life at RockPointe.
Say hello – When you see them in the weeks ahead, take a moment to introduce yourself. If you’re part of a ministry team or staff group, help them get to know who you are and how you serve.
Stay engaged – We’re in an exciting season as a church. We have our purpose and vision in front of us and God is stirring passion, calling new leaders, and opening doors for gospel impact. Nathan’s arrival is part of that momentum and I believe it’s just one of the signs that God is preparing us for more.
A Word of Thanks
Finally, I want to say thank you for being a church that longs for God’s leading and listens well. These are not easy days to do church or lead ministry, but I continue to be encouraged by how our congregation shows up with faith, openness, generosity, and a hunger for more of Jesus. I believe God is writing something beautiful here at RockPointe. And I believe that Nathan and Sandra’s presence will only deepen what God is doing.
Let’s continue to seek the Lord together, trusting that as we do, He will build His Church.
Grace and Peace to you,
Stafford Greer
