GOD'S GLORY REVEALED THROUGH YOU

Ron Gray, Bearspaw Interim Lead Site Pastor

"Abraham was only one man when I called him. But when I blessed him, he became a great nation." Isaiah 51:2

Your potential is only limited by the call and blessing of God. That potential is unlocked by faith.

In the months of January and February, our teaching series follows the people of Israel as God led them from slavery to freedom. Through this journey God revealed his glory and prepared his people to be the conduit through whom he revealed that glory to the world. When they followed him in faith, God’s purposes were accomplished. As God’s children, we are all on such a journey.

It is God’s intention to reveal his glory through your life. We may have preconceived ideas of what God’s glory might look like. We might imagine that his glory would be revealed through extravagant success, or miraculous signs and wonders. That may be true in some people’s lives. In the lives of others, God’s glory may be revealed through peaceful contentment and humble perseverance in times of trial and turmoil. The fact of the matter is that whatever circumstance God calls us to walk through, it is his intention to have his glory shine through. That is his call upon our lives. It is another fact that it is God’s blessing that provides all that we need to live in such a way. That is his promise to us.

In the scripture we see God’s glory revealed in the power of the plagues, the provision of water and food, the fiery mountain top, and the parted sea. We also see his glory revealed through his still small voice, the perseverant faith of simple folks like us, and the arrival of an infant in Bethlehem. Whether it be in a grand way or a simple quiet way, God intends for his glory to shine through you. He has called you to that purpose. He has given you all you need to fulfill that purpose in Jesus Christ.

God’s call can seem daunting and impossible. But isn’t that the whole point of his glory, that He would do something through us that we could never do in and of ourselves? Abraham, a solitary, elderly man whose body was as good as dead, (Paul’s words, not mine {Romans 4:19}) became a great nation for the glory of God and the benefit of the world. It was through faith that Abraham obeyed God and followed him into a glorious life.

How might God be seeking to be glorified through your life? How might God be seeking to be glorified through RockPointe? I do know one thing for certain; whatever he is calling us to will be far greater than we could ever accomplish on our own.

Whether it be in through ways you perceive to be great, or ways you perceive to be small, God is calling you and God is with you. Follow him in faith for God is with you!

"All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ." Ephesians 1:3
