REMEMBER HIS FAITHFULNESS

Ryan Brammer, Pastor of Ministry Support

Two weekends ago as Buzz Maxey was preaching at Bearspaw, my wife Brittany leaned over to me and whispered just how amazing it was to her that she remembers Buzz preaching at RockPointe when she was 8 years old. It was a prompt to remember God's faithfulness through these amazing people over the many years of their service and to rejoice in see the unfolding and fulfillment of dreams and goals in the printing of Bibles for the people they are reaching for Jesus. It was a perspective builder. It reminded us that God weaves His story in and through His people over time and in His own timing.

This reminder of God's goodness and faithfulness over time caused me to reflect on my own life. From a curious 16 year old trying to figure out faith, God, and meaning, to the many ways in which God has moved, been faithful, and answered prayer - in all the ups and downs, in all my moments of doubt and pain, God has woven a story in and through me. And he is doing the same thing in each of you.

It reminds me of our faith community at RockPointe. We've seen God's blessing over the years with people coming to know and walk with Jesus. We've seen so many baptized. We've seen young kids grow up in faith, start families, and step into leadership. We've seen other faith communities join with us. We've seen God's blessing as we have taken risks and stepped out into something new. We've seen years of growth and years of contraction. We've had staff come and go. We've had moments of great joy, and moments of difficulty and grief together. We've experienced ups and downs like any family does.

Yet, through it all, God's goodness, steadfastness, and faithfulness to His children remains the same. Through it all is a story He has woven through His people at RockPointe over time. When I reflect on all this, I can't help but feel such thankfulness for being part of a faith community - a family - who walk together through everything. I can't help but be thankful that God's church wins, that God is sovereign over all.

As I pray and think about launching into September - Kids back at school, ministry at RockPointe underway, etc - I can't help but be thankful for all these things. For these stories. For the faithfulness of those who call RockPointe their family.

My encouragement today to each of you is this: Take a moment to reflect on God's goodness in your own life over the years. Even if life is hard right now, or busy, or complicated... look back at His faithfulness. Remember the times He has met you. Take time to remember. Take time to thank Him. And remember that today, and tomorrow, are just small pieces in the story God is telling through and in you.

Lord, help us remember all the times you have been faithful and good to us in our past. Let is fuel our faith and increase our boldness to step into tomorrow with you.
